A Card and a Layout!

Can't believe I was able to finish a card and a layout today!:) I don't think I've done it before..:P And I'm quite happy with my outputs..;)

Here's another layout of my dearest son:


I love the paper I used for this LO, I won it in a challenge (unfortunately, I forgot which one).. But whoever gave this to me, thanks so much! love it!:) I cut part of the car design so that it won't get hidden by my LO's design:
Challenges:

• Colorful Creations - ABC Challenge - Q for Quote (my mat is filled with quotes about family), R for ribbon and S for Stickles or Stitches.
• Creative Scrappers - Sketch#162
• Scrap it with a Song - The Way You Make Me Feel - Aside from using a part of the lyrics (Pretty Baby), the song title just suits me at the moment..:) Being a first time mom, everyday I'm still amazed at my precious miracle! There are days where I feel like I'm in an emotional roller coaster ride all because of my pretty baby..;)

A first for my baby

My first LO for my baby Toby! He was born last May 15 and I just can't wait to scrap with him as my subject.. Unfortunately, didn't know newborns take most of your time.. ahaha!! I thought I'll have a lot of time to scrap.. ;)

Anyways, glad I was able to finish one though..:)

My Bridal Walk

I made this layout for Creative Scrappers.. Got really inspired to try out their sketch from the samples at their site! Here's Creative Scrappers' sketch#98: (in case the picture doesn't show up, just click on the link)

And here's my take on the sketch:



The picture was taken during my bridal walk down the isle last December...:) I chose the song "From This Moment On" by Shania Twain for my bridal walk song.. I just love its lyrics... and having a duet version with Bryan White just makes it perfect (i loooove duets!)!:) Blue is also our main wedding color..:)

The Ugly Duckling

Yes, this LO I made is like the "ugly duckling".. It started as part of a challenge at the Creative Divas' site called Ugly Paper Layout Challenge, where participants will send 2 of their ugliest papers to another person... then that person is supposed to create a layout using only those papers.. and here are the papers I got:

I honestly feel I got lucky with mine.. haha!! at least they match..;) They just looked "stained", which I was told by the sender was supposed to give the papers an "antique" feel.. Guess that's part of the reason why she felt they were ugly! hehe!

And then, hubby and I are currently studying strobing.. and we sometimes practice taking pictures of things.. then I thought of another challenge (still from Creative Divas) where it asks us to include in our LO ALL the 26 letters of the alphabet.. so I thought of taking this picture:

And of course, as always, the beautiful layout from Sketchy Thursdays: (unfortunately, I wasn't able to submit this at Sketchy Thurs, on time..:( I dunno what's with me lately, I seem to have lost my sense of time..:-S)

And so, combining everything... here's my layout:


Talk about turning trash into something, huh?..;) To compliment those "stained" markings on the papers (which is more evident on the blue striped paper), I decided to try the distressing technique for the first time..:P It made that second paper pop out in my opinion.. and then luckily, the blue gel we used to take that strobe shot perfectly matched my papers!:) Love how they all came together really well...:)

Update (March 22): My LO was chosen as the winner for the OhScrap!!!!~Use ALL 26 Letters of the Alphabet Challenge at the CSD!!:) I don't think I won any prize, but just being named the winner and having someone appreciate what I've done is already a great honor for a beginner like me...;) Happy happy!:)

All Grown Up!

Again, another sketch from Sketchy Thursdays:



And my entry for this challenge:



The subject is my bestfriend, Jajah. Pictures on the left & right were taken in Australia, where she studied in that school in the background for a few years.. Then just last year, after more than 10 years if I'm not mistaken, she visited her old school (and a few more other familiar places) and took a picture in the same spot (center picture)! Nostalgic??......maybe..;)

I used a black background for the Black & Bling challenge at Creative Scrapbooking Divas' site. I knew I wouldn't be qualified to join the challenge, but I just thought using the black BG just the same, just so I could also share this LO with them..

I sure pray that I win this time at Sketchy Thursdays! The prizes for this week are just FAB!! And God knows I need them! Hahaha!!

Paper Piecing

This is my entry for Simply Scrapping's Wk2 Challenge: Any Way You Like It Paper Piecing.


Week 2 challenge at SSC is a Technique challenge, and this week, I learned about paper piecing! I sure enjoyed learning this technique, and might be using it in again the future, when I do have more stamps to use for this..;) But since I only have limited choices at the moment, I used my only stamp with "hollow" insides, which is a flower..:P Had a bit of a hard time cutting them out since they are small... but I liked how it turned out!:D I surely had fun doing this challenge!:)

Photobooth

I'm so happy to be able to finish my first 12x12 LO for the year! It's for Sketchy Thursdays' "Vintage" sketch: (photo of the sketch taken from Sketchy Thursdays)

And here's my take on the sketch, I hope it's "vintage" enough for the challenge..;)

Journal: "Our first photobooth experience was at our wedding! We enjoyed fooling around & posing for the camera!=) My only regret is that we weren't able to take as much pictures as I wanted.. Was just too tired already.. Hehe! But it was surely a fun, fun, FUN experience!!:)"
