Another LO I made for my baby.. Pictures were taken by the proud (new) daddy..:)

• Colorful Creations: ABC Challenge - Letter 'T' title (TOBY). Also 'T' for Torn and Technique (distressing) and 'U' unique (giving birth is a unique experience for every woman).. also, it's quite unique (uncommon) for me to use stars in my LOs..;P

A Photo Scavenger Hunt!

It's the first time I joined a photo scavenger hunt challenge and I was really excited to do it! All thanks to the CS Divas for this challenge..;)

Here are the items I "hunted" for:

1. Flowers - love these flower embellies!

2. Ribbons - just bought these ribbons yesterday.. it's actually the 1st time I bought ribbons in "rolls".. I usually just buy a couple of yards..:P

3. Food item/Dinner - hubby made baby back ribs for dinner tonight..:)

4. Glitter - bought these quite a long time ago... still haven't used them.. honestly, I still dunno how to use them in my LOs..:P hehe!! I guess I'm still a newbie crafter..:P

5. Favorite craft item - since I don't have much scrapping supplies/resources yet, these are my fave craft item.. I usually just make my embellies, so I use my scissors a lot!:P

6. A bed - our king-size bed

7. A family member - my boys (hubby & son)

8. Your most recent picture that you just took (not including this challenge) - this is my most fave item from the list as I just took this photo below today.. my baby just turned 10 weeks old!:)

9. The color green - literally, I took a picture of all my green (different shades) colored pencils..:P

10. A card fold ( easel, joy fold, trifold, etc) - a trifold card I made a long time ago.. I'd say this is one of my fave cards...:)
Hope to find more of these kind of challenges!:P I definitely had fun "photo scavenging"..;) Hehe!

Divalicious Christmas in July Blog Hop

As I mentioned in a previous post, the Creative Scrapbooking Divas had a Divalicious Xmas in July Blog Hop last weekend. I really enjoyed hoping thru all the Divas' blogs and seeing their xmas project ideas!

Unfortunately, I couldn't do some of them due to lack of resources.. So for my xmas project, I just plan to start creating my xmas cards this July. I want to create cards for my family and friends this xmas for a change, instead of just buying from a bookstore..:P

Here's a few I was able to start with:

These will be my "generic" cards, which will be mass produced and given to my colleagues and friends..

For my family and close friends, I plan to create a different one for each of them..:) I was able to finish one. Since I couldn't create a real banner like in Diva Jessica's blog, I decided to just use the banner concept in my card. This one I'll give to one of my close friends:



More to come, of course. I'll be updating this blog and posting the pics as I finish them.. ;)

Ruffles

Mother's Day Card

It's almost Mother's Day, so I decided to start doing my MD cards for my mom and MIL*..:) Here's my 1st MD card:


It's my 1st tri-fold card..:P Inside it just says "Happy Mother's Day!!!"... I forgot to take a picture of the inside..*blush* will try to add it in this blog later...:)

The Ugly Duckling

Yes, this LO I made is like the "ugly duckling".. It started as part of a challenge at the Creative Divas' site called Ugly Paper Layout Challenge, where participants will send 2 of their ugliest papers to another person... then that person is supposed to create a layout using only those papers.. and here are the papers I got:

I honestly feel I got lucky with mine.. haha!! at least they match..;) They just looked "stained", which I was told by the sender was supposed to give the papers an "antique" feel.. Guess that's part of the reason why she felt they were ugly! hehe!

And then, hubby and I are currently studying strobing.. and we sometimes practice taking pictures of things.. then I thought of another challenge (still from Creative Divas) where it asks us to include in our LO ALL the 26 letters of the alphabet.. so I thought of taking this picture:

And of course, as always, the beautiful layout from Sketchy Thursdays: (unfortunately, I wasn't able to submit this at Sketchy Thurs, on time..:( I dunno what's with me lately, I seem to have lost my sense of time..:-S)

And so, combining everything... here's my layout:


Talk about turning trash into something, huh?..;) To compliment those "stained" markings on the papers (which is more evident on the blue striped paper), I decided to try the distressing technique for the first time..:P It made that second paper pop out in my opinion.. and then luckily, the blue gel we used to take that strobe shot perfectly matched my papers!:) Love how they all came together really well...:)

Update (March 22): My LO was chosen as the winner for the OhScrap!!!!~Use ALL 26 Letters of the Alphabet Challenge at the CSD!!:) I don't think I won any prize, but just being named the winner and having someone appreciate what I've done is already a great honor for a beginner like me...;) Happy happy!:)

Cards, cards, cards!!

I have been pretty neglectful of my blogs lately! so many catching up to do.. Argh! so anyway, here are some of the cards I made for different challenges.. just wanna share them with you..:)

Here are a couple of the first few cards I made. I made them as for a sorta challenge at MAF*.. The hostess sent us materials to create things with, and these where the results for mine..:P

This one below if I am not mistaken was for a color challenge.. we were given a set of colors we could only use in our cards.:) I think it was at SSC*..:P

This one below is the first card I made where I actually won something!:P I got a digital stamp for a prize and I just love what I got!:) The challenge was called "Etch a Sketch" (at Creative Divas) where we just basically need to follow a sketch..:)

This is my favorite from all the cards I made so far..:P It's actually the first card I made which includes the inside.. and I just had a laugh doing the "message" of the card! Haha!! Oh, and the challenge for this one is also a color challenge at SSC*...
